Coldplay are battling with the UK's leading solo artist (Adele) to top the UK artist albums chart this weekend with just several dozen sales separating the two artists. Adele's latest album 21 remains in the lead in pursuit of a 21st week at number one, but Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto was trailing it by only around 60 sales up to the end of trading on Thursday, according to Official Charts Company figures. Little more than 1,100 sales further behind is Atlantic act Ed Sheeran's + in third position, while Elektra/Atlantic's Bruno Mars' Doo-Wops & Hooligans is fourth in the week to date. Rhino's Chris Isaak rounds off the top five with a new entry at five with Beyond The Sun, which is set to become the American's highest-charting album in the UK since Wicked Game in 1991.
